If you are like me, you rarely put on a bathing suit ~ let alone check your back side out in the mirror when wearing one. Besides only really heavy people have cellulite, right? Wrong.
Skinny people can develop cellulite, too. And if your mom had cellulite, chances are you are at a higher chance of developing it, too. Thanks Mom!
WebMD says that cellulite is just normal fat under the skin that appears bumpy and puckered. ewww.
There are ways to reduce the appearance of that bumpy fat.
- Exfoliate. Using a sugar scrub or loofa all over your body improves circulation and can reduce the appearance of cellulite.
- Dry Body Brushing. Basically the same principle as above. Improves circulation and therefore skin tone and texture.
- Fake Bake. Darker skin hides cellulite better than light skin so try a self tanner.
- Wrap it. There are expensive wraps out there that claim to reduce fat and cellulite. Try a DIY recipe and save some moolah. There are several recipes online but here’s what I recommend:
Easy Recipe: Rub vitamin e oil on affected area and wrap with plastic wrap. Relax for an hour or so and wash well with soap and water. Do this several times per week until you’re satisfied with appearance.
Serious Recipe: Slightly warm ¼ c Olive Oil & ¼ c Aloe Vera Gel, add 2T Sea Salt and ½ c Sea Clay or Bentonite Clay. Mix well. Optional: mix in a few drops of Grapefruit Essential Oil. Rub on affected area and wrap gently with a towel. Relax for 60 minutes and then wash well with soap and water. Do this several times per week until you’re satisfied with appearance.
