We had the first day of Spring and I see tiny white flakes falling outside my window! Well, that's what happens in Northern Wisconsin,,,we never know when snow might start falling :)
Are you trying to do Spring Cleaning? I like to open the windows and let the stale air out and breathe in the fresh Spring air. Who doesn't, right...but I may have to wait until it warms up a little more. In the meantime, I've got a few green cleaning tricks if you want to keep that indoor air as non-toxic as possible. Tea Tree Essential Oil is anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. So that black moldy line around the windows (especially in the bathroom) can be shot down by a mix of Tea Tree oil and water. I use a spray bottle dedicated to this solution: 1 cup H2O and 1 teaspoon Tea Tree. Simply spray around windows, let it set for a few minutes, and then wipe away with a paper towel. You can use it in the shower or anywhere else you want to clean (works great in the basement). Speaking of showers, I make a gentle scrub especially for sinks, tubs, and showers. It's non-abrasive so it won't leave scratch marks. DIY this ~ 1 cup Baking Soda & 1 Cup Castile Soap. Mix well. Add your favorite essential oils. I like Eucalyptus and Lemon for cleaning. It kills bacteria and smells fresh and clean. It's non-toxic and inexpensive to make your own plus you can customize it to your fav scent. Enjoy the first signs of Spring and watch for more "Green Spring Cleaning" tricks coming your way soon :) |
